Gorkha Brewery/Carlsberg Group Nepal celebrated its 34th anniversary with a blood donation drive and tree planting at Durga Adarbhut Vidyalaya. These initiatives reflect the company’s ongoing commitment to public health, sustainability, and making a positive impact on society.
In 1988, the foundation of one of Nepal's largest foreign investments was laid with the establishment of Gorkha Brewery (P) Ltd. Initially a joint venture, the company saw a significant transformation over the years. In 2010, the Carlsberg Group took over the management, and in 2024, Carlsberg officially acquired Gorkha Brewery.
Gorkha Brewery's portfolio includes renowned brands such as Carlsberg Beer, Tuborg Beer, Gorkha Beer, and Somersby Apple Cider. The company's journey began with the introduction of Tuborg in 1990, marking the first international beer brand in Nepal. This was followed by the launch of Carlsberg in 1995, and Royal Danish Tuborg Strong in 2002. The company also expanded its offerings with the launch of its own local beer, Gorkha, in 2007 which is now the #1 brand by volume and value in Nepal.
